Around the League
It took a hard fought overtime, but the Clippers finally completed the first regular season game in the Intuit Dome. It was a duel between Kevin Durant and James Harden, who both turned back the clock and looked like the versions of themselves from 5 or so years ago. Harden had a near triple double with 28/12/8, although he was 10/28 with 7 turnovers. KD had 25/7, including a tough shot over 2 defenders to send the game into OT, but he also had 7 turnovers. Phoenix pulled the win out in overtime, and although this Clippers team is depleted, both teams have some good takeaways from this one.
Injury Updates: Joel Embiid (conditioning) will miss some time, at least 3 games according to the Sixers. Paul George (knee) hyperextended it during the preseason, and will be re-evaluated later this week. Kawhi Leonard (knee) is out indefinitely, and his recovery might βtake longer than expectedβ according to the team. Kristaps Porzingis (foot) is still recovering from offseason surgery and will miss some games. Khris Middleton (ankle) will miss a few games. Isaiah Hartenstein (hand) will be re-evaluated in 5-6 weeks with a fracture. Dejounte Murray (hand) is feared to have fractured it during last nightβs win. We wish all these guys speedy and successful recoveries.
