League News

Around The League

  • Stephen Curry and Jayson Tatum have been named Players of The Week for Week 2.

  • Victor Wembanyama is absolutely ridiculous. It sounds crazy to say, but he needs help. His presence on the court alone deters most players from even entering the paint, and it doesn’t fare well for those who try him. He’s must see TV every night, and his highlight reel 6 games into his career is INSANE, not to mention what he did against the Raptors last night. If the Spurs can get a point guard that can get Wemby easy shots, he could average 25+ easily. Count on him to be the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year, as well as a not so dark horse All Star candidate.

  • In other news, the Celtics are STILL the last undefeated team left in the league, and the Grizzlies FINALLY won a game. Jaden Hardy caught a BODY, and Draymond got Draymon’ed by Jarrett Allen.

  • Injury Updates: CJ McCollum has a collapsed lung and will be out for awhile. Terry Rozier suffered a groin injury and had to be helped off the court, so he’s likely to miss time. Wendell Carter Jr. suffered a fractured hand and underwent surgery, so he’ll be out for 3 weeks. Devin Vassell (groin) will be out “for a while” according to Gregg Popovich. Nic Claxton and Cam Johnson have both been ruled out for the foreseeable future with foot injuries. We wish all these guys speedy and successful recoveries.

Trade News

  • The Nets signed Keon Johnson, looking to add some wing scoring and defense. Look for more moves sooner than later with names like James Harden being moved and Malcolm Brogdon looking to be moved in the coming weeks.

  • The Free Agent market is still deep with vets like Isaiah Thomas, Dwight Howard, Rudy Gay, Blake Griffin, Montrezl Harrell (he’ll be out for a few months), and John Wall ready to contribute to winning or to mentor young guys. There are a few younger names on the market, like Kai Jones (yikes), Kevin Porter Jr (yikes again), Sharife Cooper, and Darius Bazley.
