NBA Draft Recap
First Round (Link to every pick in the First Round)
The Atlanta Hawks shocked the NBA world by taking Zaccharie Risacher with the #1 overall pick, passing up on the near consensus #1 pick in most drafts, Alex Sarr. That decision led to the Wizards being able to take Sarr with the #2 pick. Houston took Kentuckyβs Reed Shepard #3, and the Spurs took Stephon Castle #4. It was the first of 2 good picks by San Antonio, as they took Rob Dillingham at #8, but strangely traded him to Minnesota for a 2031 first round pick. Memphis drafted big man Zach Edey at #9, and Chicago drafted a hometown kid in Matas Buzelis at #11. Philly took TikTok star and sniper Jared McCain at #16, and the Lakers took Dalton Knecht at #17. Minnesota drafted all around athlete Terrence Shannon Jr at 27, and projected lottery pick Isaiah Collier somehow fell to Utah at #29.
The second round was uneventful, but Utah picked up another projected lottery pick in Kyle Filipowski at #32. The Lakers selected Bronny James at #55, creating the first Father-Son duo in NBA history. When Bronny shares the court with LeBron, itβll be a moment shared all over social media. (Especially if they recreate the DWade lob picture)
