No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher scored 33 points and had seven rebounds and the Atlanta Hawks rallied late to beat the New York Knicks 121-116. Risacher's 33 points were the most by a rookie this season. He also had three assists, three steals and two blocked shots. The Hawks trailed 110-105 with 2 to play, but went on a 13-1 run to put the game away. Jalen Johnson had 23 points and 15 rebounds. Trae Young had 23 points, 10 assists and six rebounds one game after scoring just two points on 1-for-10 shooting against Boston. Karl-Anthony Towns led the Knicks with 34 points and 16 rebounds. Jalen Brunson scored 21 points.
Stephen Curry scored 27 points, Buddy Hield had 16 and the Golden State Warriors beat the Boston Celtics 118-112 for their fifth straight victory. Andrew Wiggins also added 16 points for Golden State (7-1). Curry played his second straight after missing three with an ankle injury. Jayson Tatum led Boston (7-2) with 32 points, and Derrick White had 26 with six rebounds. Warriors coach Steve Kerr was booed by the TD Garden crowd that showed its displeasure over how he used Tatum at the Paris Olympics. With Warriors holding a 115-112 lead, Draymond Green hit a free throw with 11 seconds left. Kyle Anderson sealed it with two free throws with 2.4 seconds to play.

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid has been suspended three games without pay for shoving a member of the media, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations. Embiidโs actions took place in the 76ers locker room after the teamโs 124-107 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday at Wells Fargo Center. โMutual respect is paramount to the relationship between players and media in the NBA,โ Dumars said. โWhile we understand Joel was offended by the personal nature of the original version of the reporterโs column, interactions must remain professional on both sides and can never turn physical.โ Embiidโs suspension will commence with the next NBA regular-season game for which he is eligible and able to play.
Injury Updates: Joel Embiid (conditioning) will be re-evaluated later this week to see when he can make his debut. Kawhi Leonard (knee) is out indefinitely, and his recovery might โtake longer than expectedโ according to the team. Kristaps Porzingis (foot) is still recovering from offseason surgery and will miss some games. Khris Middleton (ankle) will miss a few games. Isaiah Hartenstein (hand) will be re-evaluated in 5-6 weeks with a fracture. Dejounte Murray (hand) is confirmed to have fractured it and will miss a few weeks. James Wiseman tore his achilles and will be out indefinitely. Taylor Hendricks (leg and ankle) suffered a fractured fibia and dislocated ankle and will be out for the season. Scottie Barnes (orbital) will miss at least 3 weeks with a fracture. Paolo Banchero (oblique) has a tear and will be out indefinitely, and re-evaluated in 4-6 weeks. Herb Jones (shoulder) will be out for a minimum of 2-4 weeks. CJ McCollum (adductor) will miss at least 2-3 weeks. Isaiah Jackson (achilles) will be out for the season. Jeremy Sochan (thumb) underwent surgery to repair a fracture and will be out indefinitely. Aaron Gordon (hamstring) will miss multiple weeks. (We wish all these guys speedy and successful recoveries.
